HOCKEY ALBERTA COACHING REQUIREMENTS

DMHA must ensure by November 15 that all Teams meet the requirements outlined by Hockey Alberta.  Any Team that does not meet the requirements is not eligible to participate in sanctioned games.

DMHA will reimburse coaches courses that the Head Coach has taken as required for the level they are coaching. Assistant Coaches can request to take training by submitting a written request to the Coaches Director at coachesdirector@devonminorhockey.com Approved training receipts can be submitted to treasurer@devonminorhockey.com.

Respect in Sport 

Hockey Canada Safety Program (HCSP)

DMHA will reimburse coaches and assistant coaches for Safety and Respect in Sport courses as required. Approved training receipts can be submitted to treasurer@devonminorhockey.com. All registered teams must have a minimum of 1 registered team official who has completed the HCSP.

Instructional Stream Coach Clinics

Hockey Canada has developed the Instructional Stream Program to act as a supplementary coaching education program focused on (Skating/Defensemen/Skills/Goaltending/Small Area Games).

DMHA Coach/Manager Guideline

DMHA is accountable to its membership, the hockey programs are specifically youth orientated therefore DMHA wants to ensure the safety of its participant.  DMHA requires that all volunteer team officials must complete and provide a Criminal Record Clearance Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check
